WASHINGTON – Following 36 holes at the Rutgers Invitational, the Georgetown University women’s golf team is currently tied for fifth at the Rutgers Invitational carding a 52-over 620 (306-314). The 16-team field is competing on the par-71, 6,024-yard course at the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, New Jersey. The host Scarlet Knights are leading the way at 30-over 598 (294-304).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED


Catherine Qiu is the top Hoya on the leaderboard as she is tied for 10th at 9-over 151 (72-79). On the day, she tallied five birdies (4/1) and 20 pars (10/10).
A pair of Hoyas are tied for 24th at 14-over 156 in Mimi Burton and Sunny Wang. Burton’s 156 was fueled by matching 78s in the first and second rounds. She managed a pair of birdies (2/0) and 19 pars (8/11) through 36 holes.
Wang also carded a pair of matching 78s in the opening rounds. She tallied a trio of birdies (1/2) and 17 pars (10/7).
Georgia Ruffolo is tied for 32nd at 15-over 157 (78-79) following the first day of action. Through 36 holes, she has recorded one birdie (0/1) and a squad-best 23 pars (12/11).
Milla Sagel is tied for 37th at 16-over 158 (79-79). On the first day, she recorded three birdies (1/2) and 18 pars (9/9).
Competing as an individual, Gabriella Eifrig is currently tied for 72nd at 27-over 169 (79-90). On the day, she managed one birdie (1/0) and 13 pars (9/4).

UP NEXT
Georgetown will return to action on April 12 for the remainder of the Rutgers Invitational. Following this tournament, the Hoyas will be back for the postseason with a trip to the 2026 BIG EAST Championships on April 25-27. The 54-hole, three-day tournament will be held at Callawassie Island in Okatie, South Carolina.
