Re: City admits it ‘missed’ windrow removal on 132 Avenue redesign (April 9). All those folks along 132 Ave. went to meetings, beseeched city hall and even brought in their MLA to try and get their concerns heard about the neighbourhood renewal planned for their area. They were completely ignored and city hall stuffed their vision down those folks’ throats. Councilperson Erin Rutherford takes a drive down 132 Ave. and “poof,” the dawn of realization shows that maybe someone should have listened to what the citizens had to say. A recurring theme in this city.

So, Carney and the Cronies blew more than a half-million dollars on inflight snacks. That’s quite the tab, considering that doesn’t include what they bill us for when on the ground. Here we go again (or still). Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Letters: Liberals let Canadians down on gas tax
BACKROOM DEALS
I really agree with the letter by Donna Langer (Angry and sad, letters, April 11) about how sad it is to witness all these floor crossings from other parties to the Liberals. This Liberal government is so corrupt that they will resort to backroom deals to get a majority government. There has to be more to this than just a bunch of dissatisfied MPs who just happened to change parties. This is just something to ponder as we think about these floor crossings.

(Floor crossings happen both ways but it’s not an ideal way to form a majority.
BOTTOM LINE
Why are people so upset about us making trade deals with India and China? Why should we let some petty human rights get in the way of doing business? We already do plenty of business with Israel and they are actively committing the most well-recorded genocide in history! We Albertans sell most of our oil to the U.S., which is bombing schools and civilian infrastructure in Iran. In for a dime, in for a dollar. We love to wax poetic on human rights until it affects the bottom line, then we’re out!
