Shane van Gisbergen lost control of his car and collected three other cars − Alex Bowman, John Hunter Nemechek, and Todd Gilliland in the NASCAR Bristol race on April 12.

The van Gisbergen crash occurred between Turns 2 and 3 on Lap 160, bringing out the fourth caution in the Food City 500.

Both van Gisbergen’s No. 88 Chevrolet and Bowman’s No. 48 Chevrolet sustained severe damage in the crash. It ended the day for both drivers.

It was Bowman’s first start since a four-race absence due to vertigo. Bowman was checked and released from the infield care center.
