Police say no one was injured Monday morning when the driver of a transport truck crashed through a barricade on Highway 1 in Surrey and rolled onto a road below.

The Surrey Police Service says the crash happened around 8:15 a.m.

Images from the scene show a damaged barricade on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 just before the Tynehead pedestrian overpass.

The driver appears to have rolled the truck down a small hill onto a section of Tynehead Drive that runs directly parallel with the highway.

In a statement to CityNews, the SPS confirmed no one was injured in the crash.

Emergency crews temporarily blocked Tynehead Road and the shoulder lane of Highway 1, but have since cleared the crash.
