CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Now that we know when the Cleveland Cavaliers will play their first round NBA playoff games, it’s time to figure out how you’re going to watch them on TV.
The Cavs face the Toronto Raptors starting this Saturday.
The first three games will be on streaming platforms only, with the fourth game being played on ESPN.
Which means if you want to watch the Cavs in the first roun,d you will need to subscribe to both Amazon Prime Video and Peacock, and have a service that provides ESPN.
Game 1 at Cleveland at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 18: Amazon PrimeGame 2 at Cleveland at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 20: PeacockGame 3 at Toronto at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 23: Amazon PrimeGame 4 at Toronto at 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 26: ESPN
For businesses like sports bars, this is not good news.
Streaming in a bar is not as simple as purchasing one streaming subscription.
For a bar to show a streaming game they have to purchase a license where the cost is based on how many seats are available, or the capacity of their location.
In some cases, this can amount to thousands and thousands of dollars.
