Ottawa wrapped up its regular season with a 3-1 home win over Toronto on Wednesday night.

Claude Giroux had two assists and James Reimer made 19 saves in the victory, which also saw Drake Batherson top up his career-best goal season by scoring his 33rd.

Toronto’s William Nylander picked up his 30th goal of the season in the third period. Dennis Hildeby stopped 35 shots in defeat.

The Senators finish the season with 99 points, two more than last season and one shy of their first 100-point season since 2006-07.

They now head to North Carolina to play the Hurricanes in the first round of the playoffs. The schedule has not been released.
