Bassano RCMP say Highway 1 east of Calgary has reopened after being temporarily closed due to a semi fire during a spring snowstorm.
Police had earlier advised against non-essential travel, saying heavy smoke from a semi on fire in the eastbound lanes just east of Bassano made the highway impassable.
Traffic had been diverted at Range Roads 184 and 175 while emergency crews responded.
RCMP now say the scene is clear and traffic is moving through the area.
