Five boxers from Top Level Boxing of Falconer competed on April 4 in the Rumble at the Arena 2: “Night of Champions” event at the Northwest Arena in Jamestown. The team made a powerful statement — a clean sweep of opponents going 5-0 in an evening that had talent from regional gyms including Rochester, Buffalo, Erie, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.

The local boxers, under coach Ivan Hernandez, brought heart, skill and determination into the ring and the wins were a direct result of that. Nathaniel Aponite (Jamestown High School) handled business and defeated Logan Magic (Ashtabula, OH) by unanimous decision. Quinn Flikkema (Southwestern High School) stays dangerous, defeating Marie Johnson, (Wesbster Boxing Academy, Rochester, NY) by referee stoppage. All Quinn’s wins have been by TKO. Jermain Wilburn (Jamestown) earned a dominant, unanimous decision win over Malachi Signor (Youngstown, OH). Najee Finley (Jamestown) battled in one of the fights of the night, defeating Luis Guzman (Webster Boxing Academy, Rochester, NY) by decision.

Then in the co-main event, Markell Carter (Jamestown High School and Jamestown Community College graduate) closed strong, defeating Nhya Brown (Rochester, NY) by unanimous decision.

Fighters from this club have competed in Silver Gloves and Golden Gloves and boxers will be traveling to Buffalo in June to compete versus Ireland in a cross-Atlantic competition.
