Many of today’s popular Canadian comedic writers, actors and show producers worked their chops at Montreal Sketchfest. The annual, 10day event happens at Théâtre Sainte-Catherine, the home-base for Montreal’s improv and sketch comedy artists; a space where the absurdity of sketch comedy is embraced, and encouraged in either official language. The festival’s director, Deirdre Trudeau, talks to us about the community of fans and creators who’ve been keeping it going for 20years.
