Garry Bhaura has been name chair of CREA.

Garry Bhaura, a broker-owner from Brampton, has been elected chair of the board of directors of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).

He was chosen for the role during the organization’s recent annual general meeting.

Bhaura, president and broker of record at RE/MAX President Realty in Brampton, has 25 years of experience in the real estate industry.

“A recognized and authentic leader, Garry has earned numerous accolades throughout his career, including the prestigious Community Service Award from the Real Estate Institute of Canada (REIC) and various industry honours,” CREA said in a statement.

Bhaura previously served as president of the Toronto Regional Real Estate Board (TRREB) from 2018 to 2019. He has also served on several TRREB and CREA committees and was a director with REIC and the Asian Real Estate Association of America’s Toronto chapter.

“Through thoughtful leadership and a strong sense of responsibility, Garry continues to positively shape the real estate industry and the communities it serves, with a clear focus on leaving the profession stronger for future generations,” the statement continued.

CREA represents more than 155,000 realtors across Canada and advocates on behalf of homeowners, buyers and sellers.
