Alberta RCMP say a 20-year-old from Devon is dead and a 16-year-old is in hospital following a collision between a dirt bike and a pickup truck Monday night.
Mounties responded to reports of a collision around 10:51 p.m. near Highway 60 and 51 Street just outside Enoch.
When emergency crews arrived, they found two riders of a dirt bike suffering from injuries. The 20-year-old passenger was declared dead at the scene, while the 16-year-old driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The two occupants of the other vehicle — a pickup truck with a trailer — were not injured.
Through the initial stages of an investigation, police believe that the dirt bike was crossing the highway when it was hit by the pickup.
