Reese talked about her experience of being a basketball star while simultaneously juggling her fashion career and cementing her legacy. In the short clip posted by the IMO account, Michelle Obama praised Reese in a manner that had her fans delighted.

“You are handling yourself beautifully,” Obama said. “I mean, it’s not just what you do, but the way you carry yourself. Girl, I mean, it is really a joy to watch you manage it all and you do it with a smile on your face with an excellent attitude.” To which Reese replied, “Thank you, so I am just honored to be coming from you. The Queen, the Queen, the Queen.”
Naturally, Reese’s appearance on such a high-profile podcast and earning the praise of a former First Lady caught her fans by surprise, as they couldn’t contain their excitement upon this announcement.

She even advocated for the players when they were fighting for their new CBA. However, it does come out of the blue since Angel Reese fans were already dealing with her trade to the Atlanta Dream and the start of the 2026 season. But it is a welcome development and Michelle Obama’s immense praise for Reese also caught the attention of the fans.

But the fact that the first African-American first lady showered Angel Reese with that praise just means more. And it’s “well deserved,” according to fans.
