Surrey house fire sends 1 to hospital for smoke inhalation

One person has been taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation after a house fire in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood on Wednesday (April 22), police said.
Police closed 72 Avenue at 140 Street for a short time on Wednesday afternoon due to the fire, but the roads reopened around 3:25 p.m.
There are no indications at this time that the fire is suspicious, according to police.
