A police investigation closed a section of a busy Elmwood area street Thursday morning.
The Winnipeg Police Service asked motorists and pedestrians to avoid Watt Street from Talbot Avenue to Nairn Avenue for a couple of hours.

The Winnipeg Police Service currently have a presence in the Elmwood neighbourhood. Watt Street from Talbot Avenue to Nairn Avenue is closed to traffic in both directions. There is no risk to public safety. Commuters are asked to avoid the area if possible…

They said at no time was there a risk to public safety.
Several police cars were at the scene, including the tactical unit.
It is unclear as to what they’re investigating.
