GOLF: Partner with a Pro was a success at Alberni Golf Course

Rory McIlroy may have won his back-to-back Masters green jacket last weekend, but the real pros were on the greens at the Alberni Golf Course.
In Men’s Club action on Sunday, April 12, the event was partner with a pro that made the cut in the Masters on the final day. Our members’ score and their pro that they picked before they went out were added together and that determined where local players finished in the Alberni event.
Flight A gross winners were, Cody Breuker 142, Colton Buffie 146 and Andre Savard 149. Flight B: Terry Argotow 144, Sam Parhar 151 and Terry Rai 153. Flight C winners were Ron Clark 162, Fred Fredrickson 164 and John Goes 165.
On the net side of Flight A the winner was Darcy Haggard 136, Mike Savard 142, James Haggard 143. Flight B included Bruce MacDonald 136, Mitch MacDonald 137, and Craig Acland 141.
Flight C winners: Jack Sparks 143, Mark Zado 144 and Robert Moffett 148.
The closest to the pin were Bill Barrett on No.2 and 17, Darcy Haggard on No.4, Jason Pley on No.13. The Charity closest to the pin on No. 7 was Cody Breuker, who collected $57.
The prizes may be picked up anytime after 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
COMING UP: Next up for the Mens Club is the four-man waltz to be played on Sunday, April 26. The following is the format: hole No. 1 you record the best score net and gross between the four players. The second hole record the best two scores net and gross, hole No. 3 records the best three scores net and gross, then continue in that sequence until all 18 holes have been played.
The closest to the pin and charity will all be in play.
Please make up your own foursomes and register in the pro shop by 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 25.
The shotgun start will be at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. The sponsor for the day will be Schill Insurance Co.
