UPDATE: Lockdowns have been lifted. An arrest has been made.

Two schools in Brampton have been locked up and secured as police search for a suspect in an attack.

Initial reports indicate a teen was stabbed during an altercation in the area of McMurchy Avenue South and Elgin Drive.

The male victim has been taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Peel Regional Police believe this was an isolated incident; however, there is a heavy presence of officers in the area as they search for the person responsible for the attack.

To keep students safe, Brampton Centennial High School has been placed in a lockdown, which means students remain in their classrooms and the doors of the school are locked.

Nearby Bishop Francis Elementary School has been placed in a hold and secure where the doors of the building are locked, but students inside can go about their normal activities.
