The city is inviting Brampton residents to see all the changes at the newly-renovated South Fletcher’s Branch Library with a ribbon cutting celebration.
The 14,000 square foot branch first opened in 1996 and has been fully updated with separate spaces for programming, quiet study, and collaboration.
The renovation was a complete “floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall” revamp of the library, with more natural light from new exterior windows and interior glass walls, spacious browsing and comfortable open-concept seating areas.
“Best of all, we’ve added two large rooms for programs and study, a creative room, two small meeting rooms, a youth room, and a room for our community partners including Library Settlement Partnership staff,” said Brampton Library CEO Todd Kyle. “With separate areas for different uses, the Library is satisfying the need for both quiet and collaborative space.”

The renovated branch officially opened in March, but the city is holding a ribbon cutting on May5 and is inviting residents to see all the new South Fletcher’s has in store.
The event will run on May 5 at 11 a.m., with activities continuing throughout the day until closing at 9 p.m.
You can visit the newly updated South Fletcher’s Branch Library branch at 500 Ray Lawson Blvd., at the corner of Ray Lawson Blvd. and McLaughlin Road in the Susan Fennell Sportsplex.
