Brampton residents will have more options for getting to and from Toronto for Khalsa Day festivities with additional GO train trips.
Khalsa Day commemorates the establishment of the Sikh community in 1699. The celebration also known as Vaisakhi takes place on Saturday, and is the start of the Sikh New Year.
Dubbed the third-largest parade in Canada, the annual event in Toronto put on by the Ontario Sikhs and Gurdwaras Council and draws thousands of guests, leading Metrolinx to add extra trips on the Kitchener Line on Saturday.
Passengers headed to Toronto on Saturday can take a new trip departing the Mount Pleasant GO at 12:17 p.m., arriving at Union Station at 1:05 p.m.
And for heading back to Brampton, Metrolinx has added a new trip leaving Union Station at 4:34 p.m. and arriving at the Mount Pleasant GO Station at 5:23 p.m.
