Police say a man has died after an overnight shooting in Toronto’s west end.

Toronto police say gunshots were heard around Scarlettwood Road and Scarlettwood Court in the city’s Etobicoke area on Friday evening.

When police arrived, they say they found a male victim who had been shot and was suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Police say life-saving measures were performed at the scene before the man was rushed to the hospital.

In an update Saturday morning, Toronto police say the man died.

They say the shooting is now being investigated as a homicide.
