Four adults and two teens are facing charges following an alleged weapons incident near a gas bar in Pinaymootang First Nation — around 230 km northwest of Winnipeg.
RCMP responded to a report of a weapons offence around 8:45 p.m. on April 24, after being advised that a vehicle, with a number of occupants, had pointed a firearm at the victim while driving and then parked at the gas bar.
When police arrived at the scene, they were able to complete a traffic stop on the vehicle and took the driver and five others — four of whom were in the back seat — into custody without incident.
During a search of the vehicle, officers were reportedly able to find and seize a 9mm handgun with a loaded magazine, additional ammunition, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and Canadian currency.
As a result, 20-year-old Anthony Timmerman, from RM of West St. Paul, has been charged with 10 drug and firearm-related offences.
Additionally, a 28-year-old woman from Manigotagan, an 18-year-old from Black River, and three from Winnipeg, aged 14, 16, and 20-years-old, are all facing similar charges.
