The Boston Celtics look to clinch the Eastern Conference first round series over the Philadelphia 76ers in game six Thursday night.

If the C’s want to advance to the second round of the NBA playoffs tonight, they’ll have to do it with a road victory, as the teams are set to face off at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.

The 76ers defeated the Celtics 113-97 in their last meeting in Boston on Tuesday. Philadelphia center Joel Embiid proved he’d been what the team was missing in just his second game back after an appendectomy, leading the 76ers with 33 points.

“He (Embiid) was dominant, especially in the second half,” Tyrese Maxey said after the game at TD Garden. “He did a really good job of just inserting himself, and you know, I was proud of him tonight, man.”

The 76ers forced Game 6 with a dominant second half against the Celtics in Boston.

While the Celtics are hoping to punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference semifinals, the Sixers are hoping their newfound momentum will help them tie the series at home to force a Game 7.

“It’ll take everything we’ve got,” Maxey said Tuesday. “It’ll take even more of an effort than it did tonight.”

76ers’ Joel Embiid had 33 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists in a big road win over the Celtics to stay alive in the first round.
