A big jump in gas prices is coming to the Toronto area.

The price for a regular litre is set to rise by eight cents Friday in the Greater Toronto Area, bringing it to $1.899, according to Canadians for Affordable Energy.

That follows a three-cent increase on Thursday and a one-cent increase on Wednesday.

Premium will also go up by eight cents on Friday to $2.199 per litre.

Diesel will jump by nine cents to $2.129.

The recent overall spike in fuel prices comes amid the ongoing tensions in the Middle East and the crisis involving the Strait of Hormuz.
