Cowboy Church set for Sunday morning at Cloverdale rodeo

The Lasso Lounge will host hoedown hymns Sunday morning (May 17) at rodeo.
Cowboy Church returns to the same venue with the service beginning at 10 a.m.
Kathy Sheppard, president of the Cloverdale Rodeo and Exhibition Association, said the non-denominational service will held in the Lasso Lounge after the pancake breakfast ends.
“The space will be a little big bigger than last year,” Sheppard said. “The pancake breakfast will be next to it, not in the same location, but right next door.”
That’s a change from last year when both the pancake breakfast and Cowboy Church shared the same location.
Mark Davis, from the B.C. Fire Chaplains will once again lead the service.
According to an entry on cloverdalerodeo.com, Davis is a pastor, firefighter, and chaplain with the Township of Langley Fire Department.
“He shares a message of faith, hope, and resilience rooted in real life and God’s Word,” the entry notes. “With a heart for the community, (Davis) is passionate about walking with people through every season. Come in your western wear and enjoy a welcoming, uplifting worship experience.”
The Lasso Lounge will be located at the east side of the rec centre parking lot, just east of the food court area.
Sheppard added Cowboy Church is quite popular and usually has several rodeo competitors and officials in attendance.
