The Anatom Skeleton marks a milestone moment for one of Swiss watchmaking’s most enduring designs

For four decades, Rado Switzerland watches have been the finishing touch on the wrists of those who understand the true value of real craftsmanship. Now, the Swiss brand has done something it has never done before – opened the Anatom up entirely.

The Rado Anatom Skeleton is the first skeletonised version in the collection’s history and the effect is as breathtaking as it is meaningful.

The unrestricted view of the Rado R808 calibre automatic movements miniature components transforms the watch from an ergonomic style icon into a mechanical metaphor for the full complexity of the human body.

Through a cylindrical sapphire crystal with grey metallisation around the edges, the R808 automatic calibre is fully visible – anthracite-coated and yellow gold-coloured cogs and wheels, nickel and ruthenium-coloured plates, and specially designed yellow gold-coloured skeletonised hands filled with Super-LumiNova®, all moving in layered depth like a three-dimensional maze.

A suspended white minute track with cast Super-LumiNova® blocks frames the view without crowding it. Turn the watch over and a transparent sapphire crystal case back offers the same window from the reverse.

Rado Anatom Skeleton brings the Anatom line squarely into the 21st century, a world where transparency and authenticity are considered among the most revered personality traits.

The Rado Anatom’s defining characteristic – an anatomical case shaped to follow the natural curve of the wrist – remains fully intact. The plasma high-tech ceramic finish gives the 32.5 mm case a matte grey appearance with an almost pearlescent quality, matched by a high-tech ceramic bezel, crown and clasp cover.

The strap is a special flexible rubber that resists wear, UV light and a range of acids – practical credentials that sit comfortably alongside the watchmaking craft on display above it.

The movement behind the Rado Anatom Skeleton is equally well considered.

An antimagnetic Nivachron™hairspring and five-position adjustment deliver strong daily accuracy and an 80-hour power reserve means the Rado Anatom Skeleton keeps running well into the week on a single wind.

Rado has been mastering the  high-tech ceramic since 1986, when it became the first brand to produce ceramic watches in series. Forty years on, the Anatom remains proof that getting something right the first time is its own kind of innovation.

The Rado Anatom Skeleton is priced at $6,100 CAD and available exclusively through Rado’s online boutique at www.rado.com.
