LETTER: Random acts of kindness make South Surrey a better place

Thanks to those incredibly kind people who helped me, a cyclist, on the corner of Crescent and 128th on Saturday (April 25).
There I was on my butt, after having fallen off my bike, and right away I was helped by a motorist who stopped and offered his first aid kit! Next just passing by, a very friendly doctor appeared, and he took charge and began first aid. As well, another woman ran across the street to the vet office and came back with a large bandage that the doc was able to secure my two-inch gash.
I was then able to ride to a clinic, and once more lucked out, as it was a Saturday, and it not only was open but they had time for me to see the lovely doctor on call and have my wound stitched up. Unbelievable but true!
We live in a very “fragile “ state of worldly concerns, and yet the acts of random kindness by these people gives me such confidence that our world will be OK. I was truly blessed to have met them, and once more warmest hugs and a great big thank you those good people!
We do live in an amazing community.
