There will be closures of the emergency departments in Thessalon and Richards Landing this week due to physician shortages.
The North Shore Health Network says the Thessalon Site emergency room will shut down at 8 a.m. on Monday, May 4. It is not scheduled to reopen until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6.
The Richards Landing – Matthews Site emergency room will shut down at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5. It is not scheduled to reopen until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6.
Anyone requiring immediate medical attention should still call 9-1-1. Ambulances will be re-routed.

Sault Area Hospital – 750 Great Northern Rd., Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
Richards Landing Site – North Shore Health Network – 1180 Richards St., Richards Landing, Ont. (Monday, May 4 only for Thessalon closure)
