The WNBA preseason comes to a close with two teams eyeing a championship run. A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas are coming off their third championship in four seasons. They opened up the preseason with six players scoring in double figures. Kennedy Carter and Kierstan Bell combined for 32 points and eight rebounds on 10-of-20 shooting. Wilson did not play in the 94-78 win over the Japanese National Team. The Dallas Wings opened the preseason with a win, led by Paige Bueckers with 20 points, three assists and two rebounds. This matchup is a preview of two potential MVP finalists in Wilson and Bueckers.

Wilson is coming off a season where she earned her fourth MVP and third Defensive Player of the Year. She was dominant in the playoffs, averaging 26.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.5 blocks and 2.1 steals per game, leading Las Vegas to another championship.

Bueckers is the reigning Rookie of the Year. She made the All-Star team and earned All-WNBA while averaging 19.2 points, 5.4 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. 

Dallas enters this season with real expectations after back-to-back No. 1 overall picks in Buckers and Azzi Fuud. They added Alanna Smith, Jessica Shepard, Alysha Clark and Odyssey Sims to bolster the roster around Arike Ogunbowale and Bueckers.
