As warmer weather and patio season begin to return across the GTA, food lovers have a few new spots to add to their spring dining lists.
From elevated dining experiences and Indian street food favourites to viral burgers, here are three new restaurants that opened in Mississauga and Brampton in April:
Chiang Mai Thai Dining officially opened their largest location yet in Mississauga’s City Centre neighbourhood on April 20.
Located near Square One, Kariya Park and the Sussex Centre, the new restaurant marks the chain’s first location in the 905 after expanding across Toronto with spots in Greektown, Etobicoke, Liberty Village, the Junction and York Mills.
The restaurant specializes in authentic and modern Thai cuisine, serving dishes such as pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, curry pad Thai and khao soi, along with inventive offerings including Wagyu khao soi dumplings.
The new Mississauga space can accommodate more than 200 guests and features a tropical-inspired interior with lush greenery, palm-themed decor, large booths and a half-moon-shaped bar. The restaurant also plans to introduce a year-round covered patio and brunch service later this year.
Chatori Gali officially opened its third Brampton location on March 31 at 6151 Mayfield Rd., continuing the restaurant chain’s expansion across the city.
Known for their Indian street food offerings, the restaurant specializes in popular chaat dishes such as pani puri, sev puri, raj kachori and samosa chaat.
The menu also includes snacks such as crispy corn basket and bhel puri, along with desserts including gulab jamun with rabdii, desi ghee churi and stick waffles topped with Oreo, coconut or sprinkles.
Drink offerings range from mango and rose falooda to masala chai, karak chai, jaljeera and mango chilli coolers.
The new restaurant joins Chatori Gali’s existing Brampton locations on Kennedy Road South and Creditview Road.
Uncle Jack’s officially opened its first-ever Canadian location in Mississauga on April 11 at 1065 Canadian Place.
The restaurant chain, which already operates more than 25 locations in India, is known for combining American comfort food classics with Indian-inspired flavours and presentation.
Popular menu items include the restaurant’s viral “beaker fries,” loaded fries served inside science-lab-style beakers and topped with molten cheese sauce. Varieties include pizza fries, Chicago chicken fries and mushroom cheese fries.
The menu also features burgers, sandwiches, waffles, pizza, pasta, nachos, hot dogs and all-day breakfast offerings, alongside shakes, coffees and other beverages.
The restaurant celebrated their grand opening with giveaways and discounted menu items, while many customers online described the opening as nostalgic, saying the brand reminded them of their experiences in India.
