A bar fight that spilled over into a McDonald’s drive-thru in Mississauga’s southeast end early Monday morning sent one man to hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Peel Regional Police told INsauga.com officers were called to the Lakeshore and Cawthra roads McDonald’s at around 12:40 a.m. for a medical assist emergency.
Upon arrival, police found a man in his 20s in the drive-thru area who was suffering from signs of trauma. He was transported to hospital, where he remains in serious but stable condition, police said.
“In the early stages of the investigation, officers have determined the victim was involved in a physical altercation with another man at a nearby bar, which continued into the McDonald’s area,” police said in an email to INsauga.com.
The culprit fled the scene prior to police arrival. He’s described as white, with a heavy build, wearing blue jeans and a white shirt with red markings.
Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area of the McDonald’s and may have witnessed an altercation between two men to call police at 905-453-3311, ext. 1233, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
