Construction season is here, and the city wants residents, contractors and landlords in Brampton to get the right information early on permits, zoning requirements and more.
Whether you’re planning a home renovation, building a deck, creating an additional rental unit, or preparing for construction work, the city says getting the proper permits is essential.
Starting work without required approvals can create safety risks, delays, rework costs or enforcement action, the city says.
To help ensure builders are following the rules, the city is hosting in-person sessions at Brampton City Hall next week where you can meet with city staff and experts to learn more about permits and inspections, decks, sheds, additions and renovations, rental licensing requirements and more.
“Getting the right information before construction begins can save time, reduce costly corrections and help projects move forward,” the city says.
Brampton’s Residential Rental Licensing program establishes clear standards for rental housing, with information about the program available at the in-person sessions.
