Southwest athletes made their mark on the lacrosse floor over the weekend, highlighted by a gold medal performance at the Ice Breaker Tournament and a dominant showing in league play.
Six players from Swift Current and the surrounding area suited up for the Flatland Coyotes girls program at the GELC Ice Breaker Tournament.
Halyn Kendall helped lead the Coyotes U15 team to a gold medal, finishing the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record. The Coyotes capped off the weekend with a 4-1 win over the South Edmonton Warriors in the championship game.

At the U13 level, local athletes faced off against each other for gold.
Gigi Kelly played for U13 Coyotes Team 1, while Everlee Warnke, Audrey Mullin and Levi Cyrenne suited up for U13 Coytes Team 2. Both teams went undefeated through the round robin at 3-0 before meeting in the final.

Kelly backstopped Team 1 to a 4-0 shutout victory over Team 2 to claim the gold medal.
Brexley Polowy also represented the region at the tournament, competing with the U11 Coyotes team.
Meanwhile, the Swift Current U13 Rampage turned in a strong performance in league action.
The Rampage defeated the Regina Chaos Blue 9-1 on Saturday in Regina, powered by a five-point effort from Luke Hudson, who recorded two goals and three assists.
Lincoln Dyke, Jase Neuman and Shane Kendall each scored twice in the win.
