The fashion scene at an F1 race is serious, and it was on full display at the Miami Grand Prix over the weekend. Hailey Bieber was spotted in Tom Ford for Saint Laurent fall 2004 and, later, vintage Alaïa; Alix Earle wore vintage Fendi; and Chase Infiniti visited the Audi garage in a monogram green set by Casablanca. But as usual, none of the celebrities or content creators in attendance held a candle to the Formula 1 WAGs. The better halves of famous drivers — including Alexandra Leclerc (wife of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc), Lily He (fiancée of Williams Racing driver Alex Albon), Francisca Gomes (girlfriend of French Alpine driver Pierre Gasly), Rebecca Donaldson (girlfriend of Spanish Williams driver Carlos Sainz) — have helped make F1 what it is: the world’s most stylish sport.
The F1 aesthetic is what I would describe as elevated team spirit with a sprinkle of European influence. Sure, you’ll see classic sportswear and nods to the various F1 teams (think jerseys, branded tees, nylon track pants, and color-coordinated looks). But these pieces are styled with bitchy little pumps, a miniskirt, or tailored trousers — not baggy jeans and a ball cap. It’s more formal and fashion-forward than what you would see at other sporting events, and the WAGs take this unspoken dress code very seriously.
So whether you’re planning on going to a race later this year or you just want some outfit inspiration for your next sports game/match/whatever (Knicks playoff tickets, anyone?!), the F1 WAGs should be on your mood board. Here’s how to dress like them.
You can’t go wrong with an airy white sundress at F1, especially if you are just there for the vibes and have no allegiance to a team. Pair it with your favorites sunglasses and strappy sandals, ballet flats, or even sneakers.

Kika Gomes (the girlfriend of Alpine driver Pierre Gasly) looked effortlessly cool in a jersey and dark denim this weekend. To break up the outfit and give it some shape, loosely tuck the jersey into your sports bra like Gomes did.
When it’s too hot for denim and trousers but you don’t feel like wearing a skirt, Capris are the perfect happy medium. They are comfortable enough to walk around in but chic enough for F1. Take inspiration from Rebecca Donaldson’s black-and-white look or snag the Ferrari-red set that Alexandra Leclerc recently launched in collaboration with Frame.

Take inspiration from Lily He and dress up your track pants with a wrapped top or something drapey. Bonus points if you accessorize with a pair of Tabis.

Never underestimate the power of a great white tank or tee, even when it comes to dressing for F1 — just style it with a pop of color that feels spirited and on theme (Ferrari red in Leclerc’s case).
