Rochester, N.Y. — A championship boxing event that took over Blue Cross Arena last month is facing a serious financial shortfall.
Uniting and Healing Through Hope of Monroe County said the “Boxing Extravaganza,” hosted April 25 in partnership with Savage Life Promotions, fell well below expected paid attendance numbers, resulting in a deficit of more than $100,000.

The nonprofit organization is now asking the community for donations to help cover the loss. It will be holding a press conference Thursday to address the situation.
