A disconsolate Jonathan Osorio couldn’t help but offer a public apology. 

“I really feel disappointment, a bit of embarrassment. But yeah, it’s a tough one. It’s a tough one. And just want to say first and foremost that on behalf of the team to the fans, we are very sorry. It was not a result or a performance worthy of this club,” Osorio said. 

Indeed, Tuesday’s 3-1 home loss to Atlético Ottawa saw Toronto FC crash out of the Canadian Championship in the first round for a second year in what will go down as one of the most embarrassing moments in the club’s history.
