For the first time ever, Science World is bringing a six-week, hands-on STEAM adventure to students in Surrey.
A week-long science-based summer camp will be made available for students in Grade 1 to 6, Science World announced in a release.
This camp runs from June 29 to Aug. 7, and parents have the option to choose which of the six weeks their child will participate in.
The camps will featured in Surrey’s very own backyard at a few local schools such as: Harold Bishop Elementary, Coast Meridian Elementary, and A.H.P. Matthew Elementary.
“For over 20 years, Science World’s summer camps have offered wonder and fun to young scientists and innovators,” said Lizzie Tichard at Science World. “We are so thrilled to bring this excitement into the Surrey community, expanding on the fun, excitement and amazing learning opportunities that only hands-on engagement can offer.”
Science World notes that campers will start by diving headfirst into a week of thrilling engineering challenges, messy experiments, and creative design projects.
Each day, young scientists will build, break, and learn as they explore the wonders of STEAM (which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Design, and Math).
Every camp will offer special guest experts and a trip to Science World for a “mind-blowing” science show and a secret behind-the-scenes tour.
Spots are limited, so families are encouraged to register early at scienceworld.ca/surrey-science-camps.
