A collection of prehistoric giants, and some smaller creatures as well, will take up residence in Mississauga for a few days this summer to entertain people of all ages.

Several or more herds of dinosaurs, in animatronic form, will be at the International Centre in the city’s east for a three-day run from Aug. 7-9 as Jurassic Quest hits town.

Billed as one of the most popular travelling dinosaur attractions in North America, Jurassic Quest features life-like dinosaurs doing their thing as part of a large, realistic and interactive show, organizers say.

Visitors are invited to “embark on a journey where North America’s largest moving, roaring and breathing dinosaurs come alive in a fully immersive walk-through experience,” those behind the show say on the Jurassic Quest website. “Discovery awaits at every turn as families dig for fossils, meet adorable baby dinos, ride life-sized giants and let their creativity soar” in Lego-themed play zones.

Dinosaur bounce houses are also part of the attraction, including some specifically designed for younger children.

Organizers note the attraction focuses on smaller crowds, “for a more relaxed visit,” reduced noise and brighter lighting “for comfort and visibility.”

“Full activities,” marked by full access to every show feature and interactive experience, is also a priority, according to organizers.

The travelling show came to Mississauga for the first time in 2022.

Jurassic Quest comes to Mississauga this summer on Friday, Aug. 7 (1-8 p.m.), Saturday, Aug. 8 (8 a.m.-6 p.m.) and Sunday, Aug. 9 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.).

The International Centre is located at 6900 Airport Rd., near Toronto Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

With weekend shows currently scheduled in the U.S., Jurassic Quest arrives in Canada this year June 12-14 in Saskatoon. That’s followed by Canadian dates in Calgary (June 19-21), Edmonton (June 26-28), Winnipeg (July 3-5), London (July 10-12), Drummondville, Que. (July 17-19), Quebec City (July 24-26) and Halifax (July 31 to Aug. 2) before the show arrives in Mississauga in early August.
