Market Days are here again.
The ever-popular Cloverdale Market Days returns this month for another summer season. The series of one-day festivals is set to take over 176th Street for five dates in 2026—with the first market set for May 30.
Hosted by the Cloverdale Arts and Entertainment Association (CAEA), Cloverdale Market Days returns for one Saturday in each of May, June, July, August, and September.
Paige Hardy, president of CAEA, said they are “excited” about being back for yet another summer turn. The festival series was its biggest yet in 2025 and 2026 is looking to eclipse last year.
“(We) have been busy securing vendors for the season,” Hardy told the Cloverdale Reporter. “This year we have worked hard to get some new vendors, we are always on the lookout for new small local businesses that we feel would be a good fit for our markets.”
She said CAEA is happy some “great regulars,” who’ve been with Market Days since its inaugural event more than a decade ago, have agreed to return for another season.
“Of course there will be a line up first thing each market for the croissants at Ça Croustille and returning to perform for us at each market is Ranj Singh, an amazing talent from right here in Cloverdale.”
Hardy noted the first market day is starting later than usual this year. Usually a mid-May start, opening day will be at the end of the month. Festivals will follow roughly four weeks later, except for September, which is about three weeks after the August market.
She urged people to come down and explore the festival for food and drink offerings along with lots of entertainment and shopping.
“Such an amazing variety of tastes to be explored this May.”
Hardy said CAEA is partnering with the Cloverdale Legion for its last market of the year on Sept. 12.
“They are planning some exciting family-friendly events in their parking lot,” she revealed. “They are teasing that we may even have a small plane on the street, parked on 57th Avenue, as well as some tanks and army vehicles. It will be a great display.”
She added CAEA has numerous new artisans and vendors joining Market Days this year along with a lot of vendors from last year that have chosen to return. There will be lots of free entertainment for the whole family, including free face painting and balloon twisting. CAEA will have 10 food trucks out to its first market and a dozen out to each subsequent market.
“Buskers will be rotating through each market,” Hardy said. “Some we have enjoyed in the past as well as some new talent. One of the new artists is Patrick Gavigan, another amazing musical talent from our own backyard, Cloverdale. He will be performing at our first market on May 30, so come down to support him.”
CAEA will have three different busking areas for musicians to play—one in front of Michaud’s, one in front of Mason’s, and one in front of The Henry, though The Henry will not have a busker at the May 30 festival.
The caricature artist Ted Couling will be back for three markets: May 30, June 27, and Aug. 22.
“This is a free tent sponsored by our association. So, make sure to get your free caricature. He is really good.”
Hardy also encouraged market-goers to visit the CAEA booth during their street-side perambulations, if they needed any info.
She said for anyone who’s unfamiliar with the festival and thinking of maybe coming down, there is free parking in a myriad of lots encircling 176th Street. She also said the festival offers many a chance to “get to know Cloverdale” a little better.
“We start planning and securing approval from the City of Surrey each fall and work tirelessly all year to host this event, which is a huge success for Cloverdale,” Hardy added. “It brings awareness to our small community, to all the local vendors, food trucks, and existing businesses. We are proud of our community and look forward to celebrating it every year.”
Market Days runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on each festival day and is hosted in downtown Cloverdale on 176th Street between 56A Avenue and 58th Avenue. There are five market dates set for 2026: May 30, June 27, July 25, Aug. 22, and Sept. 12.
Cloverdale Market Days held its inaugural event in 2014. It’s one of the largest open-air markets in Surrey.
