The province has appointed an Administrator for the Town of Winnipeg Beach following the resignation of a council member that resulted in a loss of quorum.
Council loses quorum after resignation
On April 30, Councillor Doug Jarvis resigned, leaving the town council without enough members to meet quorum requirements.
On Thursday, the province appointed Randi Salamanowicz as Administrator for the Town of Winnipeg Beach.

Now that an Administrator has been appointed, the remaining council members, which included the town’s mayor, Stan Potten, will be deemed to have resigned and will be required to step down, allowing for a reset of municipal governance.
Residents to elect new council in July
The Administrator will act in place of the council until the next general election, slated for July 24, 2026. The Administrator’s appointment will end at noon on July 25, when the new council’s term of office begins.
