A renowned Vancouver male voice choir is lending its support to the Peace Arch Hospital Auxiliary for a special South Surrey concert this month.
The Vancouver Orpheus Male Choir will present their Rivers and Oceans program Saturday, May 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2350 148 St.
Part of Vancouver’s thriving community choir scene, the VOMC was formed in 1992 as a performance opportunity for men of all ages who enjoy singing.
Led by artistic director Liana Savard, their varied and highly accessible repertoire includes popular songs from many times and lands, including Broadway showtunes, spirituals, sea shanties, and other rousing male-voice classics.
Special guest for the performance will be BC Entertainment Hall of Fame inductee Marcus Mosely, acclaimed for his work as a soloist in many Vancouver productions, as leader of the Marcus Mosely Ensemble, and also as a member of vocal group The Sojourners.
Doors open at 2 p.m.
Tickets ($30 for adults, $20 for students, with children under 12 free of charge) are available online at www.vancouverorpheus.org.
Tickets will also be available at the door (cash or credit/debit cards transactions).
