A former English, British, and Commonwealth champion, Wardley (20-0-1) won the interim WBA title against Justis Huni. The 31-year-old shocked the world when he took out Joseph Parker with ease to win the interim WBO title. He was eventually promoted to full-time champion.
The Ipswich-born star has 19 wins via knockout. He’s ready for a firefight against the hard-hitting Dubois.
“We have all the intention as a team of getting straight in there and getting straight stuck in, getting into his face and making it a fight, making it a firefight,” Wardley told Sky Sports. “Just letting the guns go and seeing what lands. Because there’s no need to be hanging around.
“There’s no need to box and move and jab in this scenario. We’re two big guys that at any second can change the course, turn the fight on its head, whichever way around you want to call it.”
Dubois (22-3) lost against Oleksandr Usyk in 2023 for heavyweight gold. After knocking out Filip Hrgovic and Anthony Joshua for IBF gold, Dubois was on top of the world. However, Usyk knocked him out last July to become undisputed at heavyweight for a second time.
The Greenwich-born Dubois is back in action and looks to return to glory.
