All elementary and high school students in Peel will have an upcoming break of four straight days.
Students in both the Peel District School Board and the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board — there are about 220,000 of them — will be off this Friday, May 15, as teachers will have a professional learning/activity day.
Then, on Monday, May 18, it is the Vitoria Day holiday where students and most workers will have the day off.
Classes resume on Tuesday, May 19.
Professional Activity or PA days are held several times throughout the year for various reasons, including professional development sessions for teachers, as well as time to mark assignments and determine grades or to meet parents. Professional learning days are those set aside for educator skills development.
For the most part, both school systems have set aside the same days for professional activities.
