A Montreal-based civil lawyer is scheduled to make his second appearance at the Montreal courthouse following his arrest on charges alleging he produced child porn and that he communicated with an uncover cop posing as a 12-year-old girl.
Daniel Rochefort, 72, of Montreal, was detained over the weekend following his first court appearance on Friday. He is expected to face a new set of charges Monday afternoon.
The more recent charge sheet lists nine new charges involving what appear to be one person, who was a minor at the time the alleged offences occurred.
The alleged offences took place between 2007 and 2012 and some are alleged to have taken place in a foreign country. In the new case, Rocherfort faces four counts each of sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching. He will also be charged with sexual assault.
Rochefort has represented Montreal police officers in the past in civil procedures. Recently, he represented former Montreal police chief Philippe Pichet in a civil case that Pichet brought against his former employer over his dismissal.
