Man, 22, charged with multiple firearms offences following traffic stop in Surrey

A 24-year-old male has been charged with several firearms-related offences after police found during a traffic stop that he was carrying a firearm.
Surrey Police stopped a vehicle for a “traffic-related infraction” in the 14600-block of 108 Avenue around 7:45 p.m. Monday (May 11).
Police found that Gurwinder Singh, who was one of the occupants of the vehicle, had a firearm on him and was arrested.
He has been charged with one count of possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm; one count of occupying a vehicle knowing there was a prohibited firearm in the vehicle; one count of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, knowing they did not have a licence; one count of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm without a licence; one count of carrying a concealed weapon; one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; and one count of careless storage of a firearm.
Singh remains in custody until his next court appearance.
