A search warrant at a Central Park area residence led to the seizure of dozens of firearms as well as drugs.

An investigation into the report of drug trafficking at the residence started this month, and on May 7, with help from the Tactical Support Team, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant on a suite in an apartment in the 300 blcok of Cumberland Avenue.

The search led to the discovery and seizure of 21 loaded restricted handguns, a silencer, a mixture of ammunition of various calibres, 27 grams of cocaine (estimated street value = $2,160), approximately $25,000 in Canadian currency, a laptop and two cell phones.

A 24-year-old Winnipeg man is facing a long list of weapons and drug trafficking charges.

He remains in custody.
