There’s a heavy police presence in Airdrie Friday morning following a multi-vehicle collision that was apparently followed by a shooting.
Airdrie RCMP say the crash happened on Bayside Boulevard between 8 Street and Canal’s Link.
At this time, police believe a vehicle was in an altercation with several other vehicles leading up to the incident.
Shots were then fired towards the vehicle.
According to police, four people have been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Cpl. Matthew Howell tells 660 NewsRadio says it’s unclear how many suspects were involved and no arrests have been made at this time.
The incident is believed to be targeted, and RCMP say their is no danger to the general public at this time.
Residents are asked to avoid the area while police conduct the investigation.
