Police in Peel Region say the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Mississauga is now in custody.
Investigators say a 70-year-old woman had just gotten out of her truck to inspect the height of some power lines in the area when she was struck by a vehicle on Truscott Drive near Southdown Road around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
Paramedics say the woman was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
In an update late Thursday, police said the driver surrendered to police at around 3 p.m. It was not immediately clear what charges they are facing.
