The 2027 NFL Draft is still garnering an early wave of attention a year before the day, calling into question who the Las Vegas Raiders will take in the event. The Raiders are expected to be a better team than last season, though a playoff berth is likely to be out of reach, which will position them well in next year’s draft order.
In his 2027 NFL mock draft CBS Sports’ Mike Renner, has the Raiders selecting South Carolina edge rusher Dylan Stewart with the No. 5 overall pick.
“Dylan Stewart is the rare 6-foot-5, 245-pounder who moves like a wide receiver. He’s so athletic that he regularly wins reps untouched. Stewart needs to add more moves to his arsenal, but it won’t take much for him to become an impact player in the NFL.”
Stewart recorded 4.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in 2025 at South Carolina. He registered 6.5 sacks and 10.5 TFL as a freshman in 2024.

The Raiders’ most pressing need after free agency and the draft this year is a No. 1 wide receiver. Las Vegas still has time to pursue the likes of Tyreek Hill or Stefon Diggs in free agency. However, both former All-Pro receivers come with off the field issues, which is likely to create a need at the position in next year’s draft.
Las Vegas also selected Auburn defensive end Keyron Crawford with the No. 67 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Crawford will compete with free agent addition Kwity Paye for a prominent role in the Raiders’ defense on the edge opposite Maxx Crosby next season.
In the event that Stewart is on the board when the Raiders select in the first round of the draft next year and the front office is conviced that his talent is too great to pass up on, he will be a name to watch to complete Las Vegas’ pass rush on the edge in 2027.
