Discussing the news of NASCAR Xfinity Series star Natalie Decker’s return to the track with DGM Racing at Daytona for the Wawa 250, where she’ll drive alongside teammate Josh Bilicki in the No. 91 Chevrolet, six months after the birth of her first child, ‘Fox & Friends’ host Ainsley Earhardt made a major mistake live on-air.
Speaking with the 28-year-old alongside the No. 92 Chevrolet, Earhardt claimed Decker, who made a surprise cameo appearance in season eight of the Netflix series ‘Big Mouth,’ was “the first woman in NASCAR to return to the racetrack after delivering a baby.” However, this is untrue as multiple women have done exactly this, including Shawna Robinson, Sara Christian, and Tina Gordon, as per SB Nation.
While Decker’s return may not be a first in NASCAR, it remains a milestone moment for her and her young family, including her husband and fellow racing driver Derek Lemke, and their son, Levi.
“I’ve always wanted to be a mother. I’ve always wanted to be a NASCAR driver and it’s like full circle, everything coming together,” Decker said. “I cannot wait to get back to the track.”
Daytona will mark Decker’s first Xfinity race since Charlotte in 2024, where she finished 29th. It will also mark her return to the track where Decker recorded her best series finish to date in last season’s opener, coming home 18th in the No. 36 while Austin Hill took the checkered flag.
“I’m just looking forward to be back in the car doing what I love and being there with my family,” she said. “Because that’s the whole reason why I fell in love with racing was I go to the racetrack with my family and the competitiveness and just the whole thing and seeing Levi get to be there is going to be the best part.”
Decker explained that she and Lemke’s goal throughout their relationship has been to raise a family within the racing world, adding, “This is just so amazing that I get to bring Levi to the Daytona race with me and he gets to be a part of the whole experience.”
This landmark moment for the young family comes after a troubling time, with Levi having been taken to the neonatal intensive care unit upon his birth, as Decker explained in a moving social media post.

“February 5th 2025 was the best day of my life and also the worst day of my life,” she wrote. “Giving birth was so beautiful but having your baby taken away from you minutes after to get rushed to the NICU was the most painful thing I have ever experienced.
“It was the longest 3 days of my life watching my little boy fight to get stronger in the NICU. Our Family of 3 are healthy and have been home now for 3 days, God is so good!! We are blessed with the best gift and I couldn’t be in a happier place.”
