The closure has been disrupting service for hours.
A medical emergency on the Expo Line has forced the closure of three Metro Vancouver SkyTrain stations, Tuesday evening (May 19).
TransLink says the medical emergency at Surrey Central SkyTrain Station forced its closure at 7:15 p.m., and the closure of two others, King George and Surrey Central, according to a TransLink press release.
A bus bridge replaced Expo Line service between Gateway Station and King George Station, starting at 7:30 p.m. Extra bus service and staff were deployed to support customers at King George, Surrey Central and Gateway stations.
“Expo Line customers travelling eastbound will have to transfer to [the] bus service at Gateway Station. Customers starting their trips at Surrey Central or King George stations can take the extra bus service to Gateway Station,” reads the TransLink release.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) the transit authority adds that it’s temporarily extending the 321 Surrey Central Station bus service from Surrey Central Station to Gateway Station “to assist with the ongoing Medical Emergency at Surrey Central Station.” Customers should board the 321 to Gateway Station from Bay 14.
The Millennium and Canada lines are unaffected and are providing regular service.
