A man is in critical condition after a serious single-vehicle crash in Brampton early Wednesday (May 20) morning.
According to Peel Regional Police, emergency personnel were called to the area of Clark Boulevard and West Drive, near Dixie Road, shortly after 1:30 a.m., where they found a vehicle flipped onto its roof and the driver trapped inside.
Police said the driver, believed to be a man in his 40s, had to be extricated from the vehicle before being transported to a trauma centre, where he remains in critical condition.
“No other vehicles were involved in the collision,” PRP Const. Amanda Steenson told reporters at the scene.
Investigators have not yet released information on what may have caused the crash.
Clark Boulevard remains closed between Highway 410 and West Drive as collision reconstruction officers continue to investigate.
Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes while police remain on scene.
